About Us

Our Story

Quarry Church is a place to find hope and new life. The good news that Jesus can make anyone--or anything--new is a real part of our own story! We are a replant of Southside Baptist Church in partnership with Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea. Here, God is shaping believers together to become a house of worship for His glory in Alabaster and the surrounding communities. Come join us!

How we started

Quarry Church began when the members of Southside Baptist Church realized they needed help in order to fulfill God's calling. They reached out to the Shelby Baptist Association and decided to be "Replanted." A replant involves two churches coming together to partner for revitalization. A "Sending" church provides people, resources, and vision for the "Legacy" church, and the goal is to re-launch as a healthy, self-sufficient church in the future.

On May 5th, Liberty Baptist Church in Chelsea voted to become the "sending church" for what was then Southside Baptist Church, which voted on May 19, 2024 to officially enter the partnership with Liberty. And on June 2, we launched the replant.

Our Name // Why Quarry?

1 Peter 2:4 says as we come to Jesus, we are "living stones" set into a spiritual house, like a place of worship for God. We're being built together to be His servants who offer ourselves in service to King Jesus. While it is true that we are geographically surrounded by a number of quarries in Alabaster and Calera, we want to be a spiritual house where anyone can come to be shaped by Jesus and set into His house.

OUR MISSION

Living for the next one to find and follow Jesus.

Our Values // Five Things We Care About

The WORD leads the way (1 Timothy 3:16-17)

God’s Word drives everything we do at Quarry Church. We follow Jesus, the living Word of God, and the Bible, the written Word of God, wherever they lead us to go.

The CHURCH is a family (Galatians 3:28)

We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. We rejoice with those who are rejoicing, weep with those who weep, and share what we have to meet one another’s needs.

His POWER makes it possible (Jeremiah 32:17)

If the Lord is on our side, anything is possible. We are not afraid to dream big things, expect big things, and ask God for big things for our church. Ultimately, it’s His work and it will prevail.

My NEIGHBOR needs my story (2 Corinthians 5:20)

No one in human history has ever or will ever have the interactions and relationships we have. Our neighbors are desperate for the Gospel, and we will share it with them.

My LIFE is for the work (Matthew 28:19-20)

Our primary purpose on this planet is to advance the kingdom of God. We labor in every segment of our lives to make disciples—at home, at work, at school, and everywhere else.
